Shiny Gyarados Gijinka
Costume made and modeled by Termina
Photography by
Gyarados used DRAGON RAGE!!!
GAH!!! I finally have Shiny Gyarados photos to share! Many thanks to VordigonPhotography for shooting with me! (He's actually been doing shoots with me all along, but up until recently he didn't have a page to link to)
The gijinka design is my own. The armor is Worbla (craft foam for the inside) and the fins on the shoulders are done with insulation foam, Apoxie Sculpt and a white mesh fabric. My trident is a wooden rod, insulation foam, and Worbla. My head horn was made by sculpting a positive mold and forming Worbla over it (much like the method I describe in this tutorial) Everything is primed with a spray primer, painted with acrylic paint, and sealed with a glossy spray sealant. The wig is a Ferrari from Arda-Wigs in Cherry Red with two white streaks added in. I also have fins attached to my back and the end of my tail, though they are obviously not visible in this picture
Look in my Facebook album to see progress pictures from this build, including how I made the skirt/tail, the fins, and the armor!
